Dear Lebanese,

In the spring of 2005 the Lebanese succeeded in putting an end to the security and political tutelage over national decisions. By doing so, they offered a model, the first in its kind, of a peaceful and democratic change in the Arab world. A peaceful political change that was achieved thanks to the vast popular involvement far from the methods of military coups, armed uprisings or foreign intervention.
