Fellow Lebanese,
In rough times the wills are tested. Here we are today standing in front of you to renew the loyalty Covenant for Lebanon, and the oath of solidarity - Gebran Tueini’s oath as well as that of all the martyrs of independence - vowing to stay united in defense of Lebanon.
Fellow Lebanese,
We are in the heart of a decisive battle which will determine Lebanon’s fate.
Our pledge to you is that we will fight in this battle in unity and solidarity:
- For Lebanon to be a fully sovereign state able to take crucial decisions.
- For Lebanon to have one legitimacy based on the constitution which is accepted by all Lebanese.
- For Lebanon to have one army under one single authority, having the exclusive right to own weapons and defend the nation, and to liberate the land from the Israeli enemy; an army able to implement resolution 1701 and impose a commitment to the truce agreement.
- For Lebanon to remain the nation of dialog and Christian-Muslim dual unity based on the Taef agreement and not have tripartite division which will destroy the spirit of the agreement, exposing all Lebanese to grave dangers.
- For Lebanon to remain “a final state for all its citizens” rather than a “phase” or an open arena to all regional and international bargains and calculations.
- For Lebanon to complete the restoration of the Lebanese state based on the national consensus which led in 25 May, 2000 to liberate the land.
- In order to keep the Arab identity of Lebanon, as stated in the constitution, and not turn it into a spearhead in the face of the Arab community.
- In order for justice to be our only guarantee, and to have an independent judiciary authority, and for the international tribunal to reach its purpose in revealing the truth.
- For the Palestinian cause and prevention of settlement and to ensure the right of return.
Fellow Lebanese,
Your freedom and your right in deciding your fate and your civil peace are above any other consideration.
We have defended together these issues, and we will keep on defending them. Together we will rise in the face of the coup on the nation and on the Taef.
You are the decision makers and we will not accept anybody except you to make these decisions.
Saving Lebanon and regaining your decisive role in the march for independence which started with Bkerki’s call in 2000 and was baptized by Rafiq Hariri’s blood and the blood of Cedars Revolution Martyrs is in your hands and free voice and will continue through your will and determination.
Your choice today is crucial:
- Crucial in the protection of civil peace and through bringing down the barricades which were caused by mobile seditions; through restoring national partnership, and through building a country able to protect us without any discrimination.
- Crucial in containing the sectarian and religious conflicts which threatens us as well as the Arab and Islamic world.
- Crucial in containing the economic crisis which is sweeping over the world, and in solving our economic issues as well as ensuring sustainable development and protecting our social lives.
- Crucial in protecting Lebanon and ensuring a safe and dignified future for our children based on freedom and democracy.
- Crucial in protecting the Republic and the second independence.
